One of my close friends Mariah has always been a muse for my painting projects. I wanted to create a new series using optical illusion and couldn’t think of something to put in the forefront. I had a conversation with Mariah and ironically I was watching James Bond movie. From there, the ideas just came together and she was completely supportive of the idea. As for the optic illusion, I wanted to take it a set further than just the background being the illusion I wanted the piece to really pop. I used synthetic hair as my second medium to really bring out that third dimensional effect.

The Process

From this experience, I learned that working with tape and in sections will save you SOO much time and is way more precision than free handing haha. On a serious note, painting always brings me tranquility and it was a real sensation seeing others fall in love with my painting as it progressed.
