Michelle is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. She received her BFA from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, and is currently pursuing her masters at SCAD. She dabbles in digital design, photography, mixed media as well as traditional studio practices in oil painting and mixed media painting.

Materials
Lino cut print
For this print, I carved two lino slabs and used Black ink, as well as pink and orange ink on colored paper. I was faced with the challenge of capturing movement on a very fixed surface. Lino slabs are not as giving or full of movement as a watercolor paint would be, for example. I attempted to achieve this through a sort of cross hatching sketch, and then worked this into the print.
