Into The Deep-Pocket watch

Travel Journal Exhibition

This pocket watch is part of a series I was inspired to create as a result of my personal growth in the field of goldsmithing. Recently, I have developed a newfound passion for sea voyages and longed to share the experience with my three sons. I imagined embarking on an adventure to explore the magic of the ocean and discover islands with simple lifestyles.
Having a clear vision for the project, I designed rings that represent entire worlds and provide a glimpse of fantasy. In addition, I created a pocket watch with hands that do not move, symbolizing a ship's rudder in place.
Throughout the creative process for these two works, I conducted extensive internal and professional research, resulting in a unique and personal expression of my passion for goldsmithing and love for the sea.

About

I began my journey in goldsmithing after obtaining two degrees in economics and a long career in banking. However, with the birth of my children, I took a break to be at home with them during their early years. It was during this time that I realized I had been on autopilot for years and began exploring new interests.

Although I have always enjoyed creating and working with my hands, it was not until I started experimenting with goldsmithing, sculpting, and soldering metal that I truly found my passion. There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of taking an idea from imagination to a finished piece of metalwork, whether it be a smooth and simple design or a dazzling piece of jewelry that catches the eye from afar.

My favorite part of the goldsmithing process is the finishing stage, where the metal is transformed from a rough and dull surface with multiple solder marks into a shining and polished masterpiece. Despite the grime that covers my hands during this stage, it is all worth it when the final piece glimmers in the light.
