Genie in the Lamp, 2023

I was doing a deep dive into Takoto Yamamoto which inspired the creation of this piece. I envisioned a genie in a lamp and came up with the concept of a genie appearing out of a teapot. With her, would be small childhood toys, painted with acrylics and copic markers. She would be surrounded by a natural environment as well looking onto her watcher with an apathetic expression. Acrylics and markers best created the bright but yet muted colors that make up this piece.
