The essence of a firework

I was hired as a photographer for a Fourth of July family party. During the event, the client requested that I capture some shots of them setting off fireworks. After some trial and error, I was able to take a stunning photo. The sparks in the picture are perfectly timed and bright against the dark nighttime sky, making them the focal point of the image. Overall, I believe the photo turned out perfectly.

The Process

As I took pictures of fireworks, I learned the importance of timing and patience in photography. It was a new experience for me, stepping out of my comfort zone. However, during post-production, I struggled to bring out the sparks while keeping the background darker, so that they would be the sole focus. This was a challenge as the sky was just as bright as the sparks. To improve, I need to focus on the camera's shutter speed and post-processing editing to fix any mistakes in my photographs.
