Essential Worker
Despite Collection 2023
My first semester in face to face classes since covid, I was taking an Art History class. The professor wore a face shield and I noticed how with every movement the light transformed her face. The entire class I watched how colors, light, and pattern danced across the face shield. I made this piece as a reaction to my experience. I thought about how important faces are, how pattern and light changes perception, and how tiring it was being an essential worker.
